JJM

"Your favourite Buddhist Rapper"
- Marshall Mandiangu.

Following the sudden death of his father from a heart attack, JJM first began rapping after being spurred by his realisation that life was too short to be lived in fear of judgement.Based near Brighton (UK), JJM is a committed Buddhist practising sobriety. His lyrical content focuses heavily on mental health and often references spiritual texts and principles, most notably The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle - the book he credits with finalising his conversion to Buddhism.JJM independently writes, produces, mixes and masters his own music, following in the footsteps of his favourite artist, Russ. His other musical influences include ARTAN, Smino, Bob Marley & The Wailers, and Dave. While raw lyricism remains his focus, he also frequently dabbles in trap, soul, boom bap and grime, and his expansive discography ensures a fulfilling listening experience for any rap fan.He is simultaneously training to be a music lawyer, and has undertaken internships at High Focus Records and DUB 5 London.
